Bald Mountain

Bald Mountain

Bald Mountain is one of the most popular hikes of the Fulton Chain Trifecta. The trailhead for Bald Mountain is located about 6 miles outside of Old Forge, off of NY State Route 28 on Rondaxe Road between Old Forge and Eagle Bay.  Although the parking area is large, it tends to fill up quickly in the summer months.

The Bald Mountain trail is about .9 miles each way and is well used and easy to follow. This is a fun climb with several good views on your way to the top. The summit is wide open and offers some excellent views of the Fulton Chain of Lakes and the surrounding area. You will also find the restored Rondaxe Fire Tower on the summit.  Climb to the top for more amazing views!
